Hair Cutting Course in Delhi: Fees, Duration and What You’ll Learn in 3 Weeks

Quick Summary:

A haircut is the one salon service every client comes back for, again and again. That’s why hair cutting is one of the most useful skills you can learn in the beauty industry. Our Hair Cutting Course at PD Beauty Academy in Rohini is a 3-week course for complete beginners. It covers basic to intermediate techniques, layers, bobs, precision cuts and face-shape consultation, with practice on real salon clients from week two. The fee starts at ₹9,999, with a certificate on completion. Here’s exactly what you’ll learn and who it’s for.

When students first pick up a pair of professional scissors at our academy, I can see the nervousness in their hands. “Didi, agar galat kaat diya toh?”

It’s a fair worry. Makeup can be wiped off and redone. A haircut can’t. That’s exactly why hair cutting has to be learnt properly — with the right foundations, under an experienced trainer, and with real practice before you’re on your own.

And once you have that skill, it stays with you for life. Every client needs a haircut every couple of months. Every salon in Delhi needs someone who can do one well.

Why Hair Cutting Is a Skill Salons Always Need

Think about the services a salon offers. Facials, makeup, hair treatments — many of them are occasional. A bride comes once. A smoothening client comes every few months.

Haircuts are different. They’re the most regular hair service there is. A woman who trusts her stylist will come back to the same person for years, and often bring her daughter, her sister and her friends.

For a salon owner, a good cutter means loyal clients. For you, it means a skill that’s always in demand, whether you want to work in a salon, take home appointments, or one day run your own parlour.

What You’ll Learn in the Hair Cutting Course

The course is focused and intensive. In three weeks, we take you from never having held cutting scissors to doing clean, confident cuts on real clients.

The foundations. Every good haircut is built on basics that most people never see — how to section hair, how to hold your scissors and comb, how much tension to use, and how the angle at which you hold the hair changes the final shape. We spend proper time here, because a stylist with weak foundations can only copy cuts, never create them.

Layers. Layers are the cut most of our clients ask for, and also the one that goes wrong most often. You’ll learn how to add movement and volume without making hair look thin or choppy, and how to adjust layers for straight, wavy and curly hair.

Bobs and shorter cuts. A bob looks simple, but it shows every mistake. You’ll learn how to cut clean lines, keep both sides even, and shape a bob to suit the client’s face.

Precision cuts. Blunt lines, clean ends and sharp shapes that need control and accuracy. This is where your hand becomes steady.

Face shape and hair type consultation. This is the part that separates a good stylist from a scissor operator. Before you cut, you need to understand the client’s face shape, hair texture, hair density and lifestyle. A cut that looks beautiful on Instagram may not suit a client with thick, wavy Delhi hair who has ten minutes to get ready in the morning. You’ll learn to ask the right questions and guide the client honestly.

How the Three Weeks Work

In the first week, you build your foundations through guided practice. You learn the techniques step by step, with your trainer correcting your hand position, your angles and your sectioning.

From week two, you start practising on real clients in our working salon. This is the part that makes the biggest difference. Real hair behaves differently from practice hair. Real clients have cowlicks, uneven growth and very specific opinions. Learning to handle all of this with your trainer standing beside you builds a confidence that no classroom can.

Classes run three to five days a week depending on your batch, and we have morning, afternoon, evening and weekend-only timings. Batches are small — a maximum of eight students per trainer — so every student gets attention on every cut.

Who This Course Is For

Complete beginners. You don’t need any experience. The course starts from the very foundations.

Salon assistants and helpers. Many of my students already work in salons doing hair washes, blow-dries or threading, and want to move up to cutting. It’s usually the fastest way to grow inside a salon.

Beauticians who want to add hair. If you already do skin and beauty services, adding haircuts gives your clients one more reason to stay with you.

Women planning their own parlour. If you’re planning to open a small parlour at home or in your area, haircuts are a service your clients will ask for from day one.

What This Course Does Not Cover

I believe in being clear about this.

The Hair Cutting Course is about cutting. It doesn’t cover hair colouring, chemical treatments like smoothening or keratin, or styling such as up-dos, curls and bridal hair.

If you want styling skills, our Hair Styling Course (6 weeks, ₹19,999 onwards) covers blow-drying, curling, up-dos, braids and bridal hair. If you want to work with colour — global colour, highlights, balayage and colour correction — the Hair Designing Course (3 months, ₹49,999 onwards) is the next step.

Many students do the Hair Cutting Course first and then add styling. Cutting plus styling is a strong combination for anyone who wants to work as a hair stylist in a salon.

Hair Cutting Course Fees in Delhi

At PD Beauty Academy, the Hair Cutting Course fee starts at ₹9,999. Fees can vary slightly by batch.

When you compare hair cutting course fees across Delhi, don’t look at the number alone. Ask these questions:

How many real clients will I actually cut, and from which week? How many students are in one batch? Is the trainer someone who cuts hair in a working salon every day? Are there registration, exam or certificate fees on top?

At our academy, there are no hidden charges — no registration fee, no exam fee and no certificate fee. Instalment payment is available too. A deposit secures your seat, and the balance is paid during the course.

I’ve written a detailed guide on beauty course fees in Delhi and another on how to choose a beautician course in Delhi if you’re comparing academies.

Certificate, Placement Assistance and Alumni Network

When you complete the course, you receive a certificate from PD Beauty Academy.

We also offer placement assistance. Through our salon network, we actively connect students with salons that are hiring. I won’t promise you a guaranteed job, because no honest academy can — but we work hard to open doors for every student who puts in the effort.

You also get lifetime access to our alumni network, which includes early access to advanced workshops.

And because we’re in Rohini, students from Pitampura, Shalimar Bagh, Paschim Vihar and across North Delhi find it easy to attend regularly. I’ve written more about why training close to home matters.

“Anyone can learn to cut hair in a straight line. A real stylist learns to look at a woman, understand her face, her hair and her life, and give her a cut she’ll love for the next two months. That’s what we teach.”
