Self Makeup Course in Delhi: Learn to Do Your Own Makeup in Just 6 Classes

PD’s Beauty Salon self makeup course in Delhi with expert guidance in 6 classes.

Quick Summary:

You don’t need to become a makeup artist to learn makeup properly. Our Self Makeup Course at PD Beauty Academy in Rohini is a makeup course for beginners who simply want to do their own makeup well — for office, parties, festivals and family weddings. In six classes you learn skin prep, brushes, colour correction, foundation, contouring, eye looks and complete party looks on your own face. The fee starts at ₹4,999, and you get a certificate at the end. Here’s what the course covers and who it’s right for.

Let me start with something I hear almost every week at the salon.

“Didi, mere paas itna makeup hai, par lagana nahi aata.”

A drawer full of foundations in the wrong shade. Three palettes, but only one eyeshadow ever gets used. A YouTube tutorial saved for “later” that never quite works on your own face.

If that sounds like you, you’re not alone. Most women in Delhi have never been taught makeup by anyone. We learn from our sisters, from Instagram, from trial and error before a function. And then every wedding season we either spend money on a salon appointment for every small occasion, or we do it ourselves and feel it doesn’t look quite right.

That’s exactly why we started the Self Makeup Course.

What Is a Self Makeup Course?

A self makeup course is a makeup course for beginners who want to do their own makeup — not other people’s. You’re not training for a career. You’re learning to understand your own face, your own skin, and the products you already own.

This is different from our professional courses. In the Makeup Artist Course, students learn to work on many different faces, handle clients, and build a business. In the Self Makeup Course, the only face that matters is yours.

That changes how we teach. Every technique is practised on your own face, in front of a mirror, the way you’ll actually do it at home. The trainer stands next to you, corrects your hand, and shows you what works for your skin tone, your eye shape and your face structure. Not a model’s. Yours.

What You’ll Learn in the Six Classes

The course runs over six classes, and each one builds on the last.

Skin preparation. Good makeup starts before the makeup. You’ll learn how to prep your skin for different occasions — a quick office morning versus a long wedding evening — and why your base cracks or turns patchy when the prep is wrong.

Brushes and tools. Which brush does what, which ones you actually need, and how to keep them clean. Most of my students find out they’ve been using the wrong brush for foundation for years.

Colour correction and foundation. This is where most self-taught makeup goes wrong. You’ll learn how to cover dark circles and pigmentation properly, how to find your real foundation shade, and how to make your base look like skin rather than a mask. For Indian skin tones, this alone makes a huge difference.

Contouring, blush and highlighter. Not the heavy Instagram contour — the soft, everyday kind that gives your face shape in photos without looking obvious in person.

Eye makeup. Several eye looks, from simple everyday kajal and liner to a soft smoky eye for evenings. We work with your eye shape, so the liner that suits a hooded eye isn’t forced onto a wide-set one.

Complete looks. In the final part of the course, we put it all together: a day look, an office look and a party look. By the end, you can do all three on your own, in a reasonable amount of time, without needing a tutorial open on your phone.

Who This Course Is For

I’ve had all kinds of women in this course, and almost all of them fall into one of these groups.

Working women who want a clean, polished office look they can do in fifteen minutes every morning.

College students with farewells, fests and friends’ weddings coming up, who want to stop depending on someone else for every event.

Homemakers who have a full calendar of family functions — kitty parties, poojas, cousins’ weddings — and want to look good without booking a salon slot every time.

Brides-to-be and their families. The bride books professional makeup for the main functions, but sisters, mothers and bhabhis often want to handle the smaller ones themselves. Some brides also take this course before the wedding so they can do their own makeup for the roka, small pre-wedding functions, and the months after the wedding.

Women who simply want confidence. Some of my favourite students had no special reason. They just wanted to know how to do it right.

Who Should Choose a Different Course

I’d rather tell you this upfront.

If you want to earn from makeup — doing makeup for clients, freelancing, working in a salon — the Self Makeup Course is not the right choice. It teaches you to work on your own face, not on others, and it doesn’t cover bridal, HD or airbrush techniques.

For that, the Basic Makeup Artist Course (1 month, ₹19,999 onwards) is the right place to start. Some students do the Self Makeup Course first, discover they love it, and then move on to the professional course. That’s a perfectly good path too.

Why the Festive Season Is a Good Time to Start

Between Karwa Chauth, Diwali and the wedding season that follows straight after, October to December is when most women in Delhi need to get ready more often than in any other part of the year.

If you learn now, you’ll use these skills straight away, again and again, over the next three months. I’ve written separately about Karwa Chauth makeup that lasts from sargi to moonrise — this course teaches you to do that kind of long-lasting festive look yourself. And once you know how to do a proper base and eyes, a party look that lasts all night stops being a mystery.

Fee, Batches and Certificate

The Self Makeup Course fee starts at ₹4,999. Fees can vary slightly by batch, so it’s best to WhatsApp us for the current one.

There are no hidden charges — no registration fee, no exam fee, no certificate fee. Instalment payment is available too: a deposit secures your seat, and the balance is paid during the course.

Batches are small, with a maximum of eight students per trainer, so you get personal attention every class. We run morning, afternoon, evening and weekend-only batches, which makes it easy to fit around college, office or home. New batches start every month.

At the end of the course, you receive a certificate from PD Beauty Academy.

And because the academy runs inside our working salon in Rohini, you learn in the same space where our team gets brides and party clients ready every day. You can visit before you decide — I always encourage it.

If you’re still comparing options, my guides on how to choose a beautician course in Delhi and beauty course fees in Delhi will help.

“Makeup is not about looking like someone else. When a woman learns to do her own makeup properly, she stops hiding her face and starts enjoying it. That confidence stays with her long after the course ends.”
